Gearwrench KD85176 0.375 in. Drive 120XP Micrometer Torque Wrench

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the many topic I train our technicians on is proper torque wrench usage and two of the most common issues I see is improper hand placement and incorrect adjustments. This torque wrench deals with both of those issues very well. The high-contrast adjustment dials are extremely easy to see in many different lighting situations. For hand placement the tapered guides at ends handle do a great job placing your hand over center band. There is enough room for even the largest hands. The only drawback I can see is for those that work in tight quarters the risk of accidentally pushing back the adjustment dial and changing the torque setting. I have a calibrated torque meter to use in my classes as part of the torqueing demonstrations so I ran this wrench through 10 clicks at 40, 60, and 80 ft lbs. and averaged the results. It is well within the 3% limit and closer to being only 1.2% right out of the box. The case this wrench arrived in is bay far the nicest and most protective of any of my torque wrenches. I have a full set from off the tool truck and this is simply superior. The case hinges are actual hinges with metal pins. The foam insert is made for this model of torque wrench and it fits like a glove.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great build from gearwrench, a incredible upgrade from previous torque wrenches, this just feels from another different game. I own a lot of the 120xp collection (long double box, ratcheting wrench set, flex head ratcheting wrench set, 4pc ratchet set, etc) and the mechanism has never let me down as a full time mechanic. I'm confident this will be no exception, calibration is spot on after using my electronic torque adapter to measure accuracy. And having those 120 position to torque bolts is incredibly comfortable most of all when you're into reduced spaces like 6cyl gm water pumps. Great product overall.
