This is the right tool for the job. I replaced the inner fender liner on my 2008 Quest. You'll want to replace at least some of these retainers. Get the tool to remove the old pins without destroying them. Some will be reusable, but some need to be replaced. These work fine and they are easy to install.

I had lost the retainer holding the front splash shield (mudguard) in place for my Murano's left rear wheel a few weeks back, when a possum had crashed into the vehicle underbody. The splash guard was still holding on because of the metal screw on the inner edge, but angled back because the retainer was lost. Received the Dorman Splash Shield Retainer in UPS, as promised, within the delivery timeline. It was packed well and arrived without any damages. Initially, I was skeptical about the quality of the retainer, as the plastic looked a bit on the thinner side. However, on opening the package and checking, it seemed fine. Installation was very easy and the pin snapped into place perfectly on being pushed into the sleeve. I have had the retainer in place now for about a week now and it shows no issues so far. I don't know how it will behave after a really strong splash while driving through water puddles after a good rain, so will update here after a couple of weeks.
