Surprising performance for the price

I just got these last week. (Sheltering note: Like all the new brushes I'll be handling, I wiped each one down with Lysol wipes and then submerged them for about 10 minutes in hot water with liquid detergent, rinsed, and air-dryed just to be safe.) They have been wonderful to use as dry brushes, to softly spread out a wash on canvas and/or give a "fog" effect that doesn't show brush strokes. Once wet with paint, they can be used to apply light daubs of color. I'm sure they'll work for heavier applications as well. They clean up easily and thoroughly as long as you don't let acrylic paint dry on them. I especially like the lack of nails that pop out--instead, they are bound to the wood with tight threading. These are a value-priced addition to any painter's arsenal.
