Mixed Review Due to Malfunction.
Unfortunately I have to provide a mixed review. I ordered one of these Counter Stools and after opening the box, I seemed clear to me immediately that this was a well built quality product. I assembled the stool and that was very simple, just attaching the seat body to the frame base with four bolts, that's it. I love the stool, it is beautiful, comfortable and swivals at ease in 360 degrees. A real quality product. There is not as thing I would have wanted differently in a counter stool and I am generally quite a fussy person. Because I like the stool so much I decided to order another one. After opening the box and going ahead with the assembly, I noticed that the plate on the bottom of the chair body did not seem to turn very easy as it did for the first stool. I assembled it anyway as I did the first with the four bolts, washers and nuts. It was a huge disappointment when I set it up and tried the swival function. Someone in the quality control department missed something because it was hard to make the stool swival and when trying harder, it would move but only with a grating or grinding sound and feeling, bumping up and down in mini-steps as it turned. Something had not been assembled correctly with the ball bearings that make the swival function. I would like to believe that this is a fairly rare circumstance and not representative of the manufacturing or quality control process used in making the stools. That said, I have not decided whether or not to take a chance and order another one.
