Fun, if always pricey.

This is a great game. At first glance it seems geared to younger players, but it has very mature topics and situations. For 40 bucks it is kinda pricey for something you can finish in like a week, but all games are like that now. If you want to save $$$ wait until it's not so new or comes out as a greatest hit game (no guarentee though).

this is worth buying

My son wanted this game for his 11th birthday, I wasn't so sure about it. I thought it would be to hard for him to play but it isn't. The graphics are good the storyline is great. It gives a tutorial so anyone can play. The game play is nice and smooth. I would recommend this for anyone.

First of all. This is a Final Fantasy game, but is not an RPG. It is a strategy game. Game play is just at the right pace. Easy to start and harder as the game goes farther into the storyline. It gets hard to select units in some of the fights were there are many enemies and allies on the screen. This can get annoying when you need to bring an ally back to life or cast a spell on a certain enemy, but the game play other then that is really fluid. Using skills is as easy as a tap. Revenant Wings story happens after the events of Final Fantasy XII. With many of the same characters from XII, it would be good if you have played it. But, not alot of story elements from XII carry over to Revenant Wings. Graphics don't look to bad. Considering that most the game is shown top view so you can select units more easily. In some story sequences, close up views can look pixely. But its not the worst looking game for DS lol. The story is just like any other RPG'ish game. Bad guy wants to destroy/rule/eat the world. There are some twists in there for those who did play original Final Fantasy XII. Overall the game is great. For those who are die hard Final Fantasy fans, or loved the story and characters of XII, I would say get it. Long game play will make it worth the money for those who love strategy type games.
