Speedway Early Ford Spindle/Bendix Drum Brake Kit

If you want the early look but are reluctant to use old non-energizing drum brakes, we have just what you need. Our 100% new self-energizing backing plate assemblies come complete with shoes, wheel cylinders, and hardware. Fits either the front or rear of 1937-48 Ford cars or 1937-47 Ford half-ton pickups with original style rear axle. This brake assembly comes complete with our new iron 12" x 2" brake drums (910-65400) with 5 on 5-1/2" bolt circle which are impossible to find elsewhere. Also included is our Speedway 1928-1948 Ford Milled Forged Spindles which have been machined to accept our Bendix Style brake kits without the typical required modifications. These Speedway spindles are one-piece, forged design constructed of high strength 4140 steel, which makes them superior to original components. These spindles are modeled after the 37-41 round-back passenger car design and use 37-41 Ford king pins. These spindles fit Ford axles from 28-48 passenger car. They can be used with period-correct drum brakes or modern Speedway Motors disc brakes, but will not work with hubs from 28-36. Ford-style spindles are generally your best choice when using an original Ford axle or an aftermarket I-beam axle. These spindles are a reproduction version of the 1937-41 spindle. Ford used the same king pin dimensions and geometry on the 1928-48 axles, therefore you can use any 1937-48 Ford spindle on any 1928-48 car axle. Be sure to include our spindle nut kit (910-616004), early ford hubs (91065450) and bearing kit (91065455) to complete installation.
