I Offer no apology for adding another to the memoirs of those who have fought a good fight and finished their course in our ranks. Biography is always instructive and interesting, if tolerably well written, to both Old and young. While I Offer no apology for the Memoir itself, I should apologize for the rough and unpolished style; but the work is a labor of love, and I thought it better to harvest the wheat though I must leave it in the shock, than to see it uncut.
