Barbie Signature Posable Barbie Looks Ken Doll, Brunette with Bun Hairstyle

Wow! This Ken doll is just plain gorgeous. Beautifully sculpted facial features. I wish that the jointing on the Made-to-Move type dolls wasn't quite so visible and robot-like, but that is merely a quibble. I just call these my android Barbies. They fit in well with my Barbie Time Machine display of Barbies of various eras along with my Hot Toys Luke Skywalker 1:6 doll--very sci-fi. This Ken appears to be more muscular than, say, my Barbie Basics Ken, but I haven't yet unboxed this doll to see if the dimensions actually vary. On this Ken, I like the nearly-shaved hair on the sides (this Black Ken's close-cropped sections of the hair are flocked, whereas some Kens with this look have a merely painted scalp), although in general, I feel this look is highly overused by Mattel, and the blond Ken in this Looks line from 2021 takes it to unattractive extremes, with a bizarre blond side-swept duck tail that is just ridiculous. However, this Ken's long braids on top are twisted into a modified kind of bun, and it works with this doll's high cheekbones and classic features. The braids themselves are beautifully proportioned to the scale of the doll; they are not at all bulky, which is quite an accomplishment when working with a 1:6 scale. I'm looking forward to unboxing this doll to see how well he poses with the generous amount of articulation he has. A very nice doll.

I love the realistic look of this doll. The packaging was in great shape and I am happy with this purchase. I definitely will be buying more!
