We purchased a 2022 Nissan Frontier Truck and realized the back tires were not the same brand or tred as the front ones. While looking for tires to match our front tires, we checked at Walmart and then compared prices from other tire stores for installation. Walmart had a better price for the tires as well as installation so we ordered online for the tires on Tuesday and had them delivered to Walmart Mt Pleasant, Tx. The transaction to purchase and set up an appointment was very smooth and we were excited thinking we would have our new tires installed and ready to go by Saturday.
On Friday, the day the tires were to be delivered to Walmart, I received a text msg that my appointment for installation of my tires was cancelled and i would need to make a new appointment for my tires to be installed. When I looked on my Walmart app, I could see the tires were not delivered as scheduled and would be delayed yet not telling me how lond they would be delayed.
On Saturday I then received a text that my tires were delivered by FEDEX at 10:17 and 10:18 am with a picture of my two tires by the water fountain in a shop. My assumption was the tires were in Walmart so I attempted to make an appointment for my tires to put on as my previous plan schedule on Saturday. The earliest the Walmart app would let me schedule an appointment was Sunday! Why, I asked myself, because AI didn't have an answer for me. I called Walmart to talk to a person in automotive about scheduling an appointment on Saturday yet, no one answered the telephone. I called Walmart back and asked to speak to the store manager and was placed on hold for 25 minutes before I gave up on contacting anyone by telephone.
So, my husband and I drove to Mt Pleasant which is 20 minutes away and waited in line during a pouring down rainstorm for 15 minutes.
When we finally got to talk with a person, he was adamant that my tires were not in their store and had I sent to another store? I showed him my phone showing the picture taken by the delivery guy as well as the words they were delivered to the Mt Pleasant store. He went and looked finding the two tires under the Water fountain but told me they had not been checked in by the lead person.
By this time my tires, bought and paid for online, had been in their location for over 5 hrs and had not been "checked in" so they could not put them on even though they were my tires and we were at the store.
By this time I was ready to cancel the order and leave when the associate says, " the lead person will be checking the tires in right after she finishes with another transaction.
Now we were told to park and they would let us know when they would get to us. I went in the building at this time to try and get my tires changed out since we weren't leaving without my tires.
All said and done, we didn't get home until 7pm but had my new tires by then!!
