They soon meet Liam, their amiable host and deacon at the village church, his niece Cerri, a spirited girl with a few stories to tell, and encounter Edwin Bell, a mysterious man who lives in the woods. Add Greenman, the timeless Celtic icon, and talk of magic in the woods and soon young imaginations run wild with fears that may, or may not, be real.

When a practical joke leads to unforeseen peril the children are forced to face their fears. In the end they realize that understanding a person's beliefs is the key to seeing those things that make us the same, rather than those that make us different.
