If you are wanting a surface softness this isn't really for you. It's smooth and nice to the touch but isn't like a soft blanket or anything. Where it shines is cooling factor and durability. This seemed quite unaffected by washing and drying it and it's great if you want something that isn't going to attract fuzzies and hair, or contribute to fuzzies everywhere. I love it for these reasons.
