I bought this yarn for a specific shawl pattern and I wanted something a little different from Puzzle yarn. Gemstone is a beautiful yarn and when crocheted on the bias creates some very intriquing designs. I wish Red Heart would come out with more colors of Gemstone. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful yarn. Shipping did take a rather long time to arrive and site was not great about updating. Yarn is not super soft in texture, almost wool-like. Very pretty colors with almost a sheen that is lost in the online pictures.

Beautiful and soft

I was looking for a #5 bulky type yarn. This was one of the many options that came up. In the pictures it looks dark. When it arrived I was delighted to find that it was absolutely beautiful with all the deep autumn colors—red,gold, orange, brown and gold with a beautiful shine. And that's beside its softness. Needless to say that I'm very happy with my choice.
