it takes about 2 1/2 gal of water for each brick. Leave rest for a day or so. Mix it up it looks like an over the top composite soil mix. My herbs are loving it.

I thought the bricks would go farther.

I I thought it would go farther. I have a 47-in x 33-in x by 23-in above ground planter and it filled up about 3 in halfway, and that was all five bricks. But it looks good, smells good and feels good so we'll see how it does. We mixed in some potting soil with it also to make up the rest of the room in the potting bed. I know now to get two boxes (5 bricks each) the next time I order it. If I decide to do it again.

It seemed to take a long to hydrate the bricks. I ended up soaking them for a couple of hours then took them out of the water and chopping them up. Left several in bucket of water.
