Expert Gardener Organics 2.25 cu ft Expanding Soil Concentrated Potting Mix

I got this to mix with perlite to use as a foundation/base to make small batches I can add other things to for various plants with different needs. I tend to underhydrate coco coir according to the usual instructions. I put the brick into a 27 gallon tote and broke it into a dozen or so chunks before adding a gallon of warm water with cal-mag to buffer it. After 30 minutes I added I began adding just water and finished with a total of 3.75 gallons used. I then added 12 quarts of perlite and mixed it all up so it can begin to rest for 24 hours.

I really like this expanding soil. I didn't reconstitute the whole thing all at once, just soaked half of it in water, scraped off what I needed and then soaked more as I needed it! It really helped lighten up my vegetable container gardens. I also used master gardeners organic fertilizer and my veggies are growing better than ever!! Will buy again.
