Safe Catch Ahi Wild Tuna, 5 oz can

Ahi, or yellowfin, is less fishy than Skipjack (your typical light tuna), but more distinct than Albacore. There's an interesting taste (not necessarily fishiness, perhaps umaminess) I don't really know how to describe. This was very firm and solid tuna in a can, cooked in its own juice. (not water!) It tastes maybe like overcooked fresh fish steak. It's also not very salty, so would be a great base for your tuna dish or salad. This also tastes much less salty (thus has less sodium) than the other Safe Catch products (except the No Salt Added ones). These don't seem to be pole & line-caught, so could be a little better in terms of sustainability, but they're at least FAD-free so mature fish are caught with few bycatch. The brand of tuna is delicious, we've purchased at our local supermarket. I was excited to see it here for what I thought was $1 less per can. Unfortunately, this listing is deceptive - You do NOT get a “case of 6”. I waited weeks for this and was so disappointed when I saw it was a single can. Don't bother paying this ridiculous price, look at your supermarket first.
