Fantastic all around long life tire for any work/farm truck

Here we are now, replacing the original CTs with another set. The first set went 108,000 miles before they were done, and then I took them to 116,000 anyways. I stated in my original review after 2 years of use that I expected exactly half that, wanting 60k from this set. Suffice to say I got my use out of these, and then some. As for the tires; they were rock solid until near the end. The insides of the tread started lightly cupping around the 58,000 mile mark and had serious cupping by 90,000 miles which can be attributed to a rapidly wearing out front end. I religiously rotated every 5k miles regardless and maintained correct inflation pressure based on truck weight/load, consistently verified via the chalk line method. I hauled heavy and aired up when doing so, driving through every form of terrain and weather conditions. Chipped rock gravel, crushed concrete roadbeds, back country dirt and mud, pastures and grain fields across all seasons, logged tens of thousands of highway miles in extreme heat, traversed blizzards in the mountains and ice storms on the flatlands, and more. The tires do wear faster in the intense heat of summer, but no worse than other brands. I am convinced these things flat out don't wear in the cold months, completely offsetting the hot weather wear down. I never got a measurement after the cold seasons that showed any actual wear. They don't get slick in the cold months following a hot summer like some others do either, they maintain their grip really well across the seasons. Once they hit the 60% wear mark the snow performance suffers pretty badly, but adding some siping seems to help it shed better and increase traction. Obviously on a higher horsepower setup I would not expect them to last nearly as long, but even still, 60k+ for this type of tire is phenomenal, let alone the 108k+ that I managed. 2004 Silverado 1500 Heavy Half 2wd

One of the best tires I've had

Had them on a half ton ram and put 90k on them, they were about 20% still. Driving was 50/50 pavement/gravel, they wear well on both. They have really good traction, handling, and braking. Brand new they had a little more road noise than I like but did get quieter after about 20K. They have a little more road noise than the open country AT II's but not as much as the M55's. They take away about 2.5 mpg vs highway tires but are similar to a BFG KO2. Roaches and inbred donkeys are the only thing tougher than these tires.

The Toyo Open Country CT Tire Is Outstanding

Ford F150 with a 6in lift kit running 35x12.50x20 Toyo Open Country CT tires. These tires have a total of 140000KM / 87000M and still going strong with 2/32 tread left. Rotation every 5000KM / 31000M fronts cross over to backs and backs straight to the fronts. I use these tires all year round as my daily driver, toy hauler, off road trips (mud, dirt, rock, sand, shale, FSR roads, river crossings) and winter driving. In British Columbia we have some of the nastiest off-roads and winter driving around. These tires are bomb proof with chunks and cuts in the sidewalls and tread blocks, never a flat tire! You can run them down to 20psi all the way up to 65psi depending on the application you are using them for. At 50000KM / 31000M there was very little siping left and cupping on the inside tread blocks. Flipped the tires on the wheels and re-siped with a utility knife adding 3/8in squares throughout the tread blocks. The tires are now really sticky and the traction is amazing in all conditions including icy roads. I should have done the siping when I first got them as they may have lasted even longer. I have run all the top brands of tires, and so far the Toyo Open Country CT tires have been the longest lasting by far. I will be replacing them with the same ones in the next few days. I recommend these tires to anyone looking for an aggressive tire, great on and off road handling, a rubber compound that handles extremely well in every condition, lasts over a 100000KM / 62000M and who are budget savvy.
