In 1974 and again in 1975, the veteran country duo of Carl & Pearl Butler went to Nashville to record a set of traditional country songs, highlighted by a re-make of their own classic Don't Let Me Cross Over. This is hardcore uncompromising country with shades of bluegrass. The 13 titles also include Garden Of Shame, Precious Memories, If Teardrops Were Pennies and I Hope We Walk That Last Mile Together.
Classic honky-tonk and bluegrass, a singers' singe with a devoted and grateful following.
