The speckled white finish looks like something you'd see in a boutique restaurant it's clean, modern, and just elevated enough to feel “designer” without being flashy. These are not flimsy dishes. The plates have a good solid feel, the bowls have depth (actual usable capacity, not decorative nonsense), and everything stacks neatly without wobbling. I've run them through the dishwasher multiple times and the finish hasn't faded, scratched, or chipped. They come out looking brand new every time. Microwave heating is even and no weird cracking sounds or hairline fractures—stoneware can be hit or miss, but this set is the real deal.

The set is a big change from so many years of blue and white china. The plates and bowls are generous and sturdy. I am especially pleased with the cups. The body of the cup gets hot in the microwave but -surprise -the cup handle does not. It stays cool. Another miracle of modern technology!
