Size doesn't add up

This is my second purchase of a hat and mittens set and neither of them fit my 3 uear old grandson. The hats were too small and so were the mittens. There needs to b a variety of sizes in these items and get off the "one size fits all" boat. My grandson is an average size child yet none of these items that are made for his age fit him. It is very frustrating
