We've had five or these stools a few years ago, from Home Depot, and decided to purchase one more, so I can attest to the durability. I was so glad to find it available at Walmart because HD no longer carried them. Our guests have commented on how comfortable they are and how nice they look. The chrome is contemporary and the gray color goes well in my kitchen. Our grandson has to be reminded not to spin the stool seat or change the height setting, but the stool has withstood even his occasional fooling around.
