DOA, but I "fixed" it.
Originally after opening it, it did not work, lights didnt even turn on. Forgot about it for awhile and pulled it out again later to see if it would all of a sudden work now. Still didnt work. But! Like a good ole tube TV, I gave it a few smacks and viola! It started working. Read my disc pretty quick and no complaints there. Four stars for it not working upon opening, otherwise its totally fine. So pro tip - if its not working, try the tube TV method (you cant pry it open to check the insides, quite sealed in), I already checked. I have not burned a CD with it yet so no comments on that for now.
