Great purchase at a great price

C S Lewis is one of the greatest authors, and this is one of his most underrated and best pieces. I was pleasantly surprised to find it at Walmart, and at such a fair price! The quality of the book is great - the perfect paperback size, with a well-spaced and easy to read type. Very happy with this purchase!

Interesting story

This was C.S.. Lewis' personal favorite novel and is now one of mine as well. It is a retelling of the ancient myth of Cupid and Psyche. However, the book is also the account of the life and reign of Psyche's sister, Orual, who's telling her own tale as the aged monarch of an ancient kingdom. The story begins with Orual railing against the gods, but ends with a story of self discovery due to a life of envy and betrayal. My teenage daughters enjoyed this book as well.

Mature and Profound

I was advised by my university professor last fall at college that he thought this is C.S. Lewis's best work. I had never hear of it, but read a description online of the novel and thought the plot sounded interesting. The price offered is a lot less than at main stream book retailers. Worth getting.
