Cinesteam® is a cinnamon-based non-adhesive absorbent secondary dressing for malodorous wounds.Cinesteam® is an innovative medical device for the management of malodorous wounds. It is a spice-containing anti-odor dressing: it contains cinnamon which has the property of adsorbing bad odors and releasing pleasant smells.It consists of an absorbent layer together with a sachet containing cinnamon. The cinnamon powder used in the Cinesteam® dressing was selected from several varieties for its specific olfactory & adsorption properties after multiple sensory perception tests and chemical analysis.Cinesteam® was developed to:- Help patients regain self-esteem- Alleviate caregivers and relatives from the burden of strong malodoursThe design of Cinesteam®, based on the natural properties of cinnamon, was developed to allow the absorption of exudates, the adsorption of bad odors, and the release of a pleasant cinnamon fragrance to improve the lives of people and carers.
