PNY 128GB Elite-X Fit USB 3.2 Flash Drive - 200MB/s

When considering a flash drive, this very small version is a great choice! The device was detected very quickly in Windows 10 and linux. It was empty from the factory. I.e. no "bloat ware" or trial software on the device. It was preformatted as Fat32 and shows about 115MB of usable space, which is expected. I performed speed tests as it came directly from the factory: The write speeds were between 80-90 MB/Sec The read speeds were between 210-225 MB/Sec While this device is labeled as USB 3.2 and I also verified with a flash drive info program. I'm not sure if most people would really benefit from a 3.2 version vs 3.0. This isn't to say 3.2 is bad, but I'm just not sure there is a real benefit, other than knowing this is a very new and up-to-date device. This flash card comes with a cover only, no lanyard is included (which is expected). There is a nice large loop on the device where you can attach a lanyard or keychain, unlike many where you have to "thread the needle" through a tiny hole. Although, I'm not sure how tough this would be if you planned to connect it to a keychain, the lanyard loop is connected to the actual device and not the cover, unlike some. So, if the cover were to come off, you won't lose the device itself. This is about as small as you can make a device like this without sacrificing the lanyard loop, which would realistically only save a few millimeters and wouldn't give you much of a space to grip. The portion that sticks out of the USB port is smaller than the metal portion that you put into the USB port, so, the size is great.

I love the form factor of this flash drive. It's about 3/4 of an inch long and has a very low profile, which is very nice when used with a laptop or such. It also includes a nice cap that fits snugly enough that I don't worry about it falling off and it has a cutout that allows it to be attached to a keychain/lanyard. Performance wise, well I don't know the technical details about transfer speeds or things like that but I can certainly say that this drive is very fast. Faster than I expected, actually. And I haven't noticed any heat buildup to speak of with regular use. Highly recommended. I might even have to buy a couple more of these.
