Simple albeit entertaining adventure at WW2 outset

Heard about this book 20 years ago but I thought I would wait for the movie to come out; it never did! Eerie to read this mans account as it happened exactly 80 years ago. Would have made a great movie, I think. He was the beneficiary of lots of good luck and compassionate people who were willing to stick their necks out to help him. It is a simple read; will not find any Hemingway-like prose here as Rocky describes HIS adventure in war but entertaining just the same. Now, where the hec is the movie?
