sweet little nightgown but uncomfortable

I liked the look and fit of this nightgown, but the fabric flowers in the front were scratchy and it's too uncomfortable to wear. I didn't discover this until I'd washed it, so I figure I've bought it. I'm trying to figure out how to sew something soft underneath the flowers so I can wear it. it's a really disappointing design flaw for an otherwise comfortable and pretty nightgown, so I can't really recommend it.
