It is a little noisy but I expected it to be quite a bit more of a racket than it is. My central unit broke down and I was able to get this one next-day. It took the temperature of my house down by almost 10 degrees over an hour. I'm very pleased! It seems to be accurate square footage as well. It's made my kitchen and living room comfortable and I can feel that the rest of the house is cooler than it was.

The Cajun's New Haier Portable Air Conditioner

THIS IS THE BEST INVESTMENT I HAVE MADE THIS YEAR. Unboxing took about five minutes. Setting up the exhaust bracket in my window took about five minutes. Untapping the unit took a minute or two and then I connected the exhaust hose. When I plugged the unit in I reset the power safety button and the unit came to life. Then I put the batteries in the remote. Hit power and set the temp to 70f. My office is cooler, the unit is not the quietest but it works and keeps my office cool.

Good buy if you can get past the loudness

Cools room quickly. The size of the unit is good, not too bulky. LOUD for a medium size room. Vibrates and shakes when it starts up. Window hose is pretty short.

If the unit isn't installed correctly, it can cause a vibration in the window sill. Just double-check that the side panels are attached to the window frame and sill with screws.
