We can't help anyone to go beyond their selves. This we would say is an undeniable reality, an acceptable fact. We are unable to even improve upon ourselves - change our style of functioning or habits most of the times. We live on the philosophy that the cake is baked and ready and nothing much can be done but eat it.Why does it take a lifetime to learn how to live your life?I wonder if one lifetime is enough - in our way of thinking, we have many lives to go through. Yet seriously coming to the point - Bad parenting, conditioning, idiotic thinking, and lazy living are the reasons. We are the living dead; slowly inexorably being pushed ahead against our will.Let us focus on the question - What exactly am I doing here and how can I add to its worth? Though this would require some modicum of waking up.Some people do put up a show of asking questions.The point is - Are you just asking questions or also putting in effort to get to the answer? The solution to a nagging past is growth; Growth of the persona. Like trees renewing themselves. All we need to do is to create new foliage, new friends, new subjects to learn and the past will have to fade away, enough not be a pestering influence.The hold of the subconscious is very strong and most of the time it is quietly & surreptiously running the show.
