Debby Dernberger's autobiography is a tale of triumph over adversity. She has fought her demons and overcome challenges like mental illness, negative learned behaviors, alcoholism, addiction, food addiction, and sex/love addiction. With 25 years of sobriety, she now thrives on planet earth. At age 33, she finally started to reach out for help to get the education and support she so desperately needed all her life. Getting help was the first step and getting into recovery was only the beginning of a long and difficult road. Relearning toxic childhood behaviors and overcoming childhood traumas was a good beginning. With the help of a therapist, psychologists, sponsor, and working a strong program, she can finally rise above poverty and chaos to have the kind of life she could only dream of.
