Nice kit

Bought this kit today. Meter work great, receptacle tester works, but the non contact voltage detector does not work. If I take the battery cover off and move the batteries it will come on for a second. I like Southwire products. I hope the customer service is just as good.

Non-Contact AC Voltage Detector not working

Bought kit a week ago, the 40117N Non-Contact AC Voltage Detector works intermittently. From the start the flashlight never worked. On known live power source like a wire leading to a table lamp sometimes it flashes red sometimes it remains green. I'm assuming I'm using it correctly.
