I really like this extra large roaster. I use it for canning spaghetti sauce and soups. Some other reviews mentioned it has a very offensive smoky odor when you first heat it up. My unit did the same thing. I simply took it outside and ran it at 400° for most of the day. After that, the odor was gone. I've had this happen with similar items I've purchased in the past. I think if your unit has the same odor and you're willing to take it outside for a day and let it burn off then this will be a great purchase for anyone else as well.

I love that the roaster is deeper than my old one. I had to turn it on (put it in the garage) for a couple of hours to burn off the smell which worked great. I've used it for a roast and it was delicious. The roaster was delivered quickly and we'll use it for turkey on Thanksgiving.

Our oven control board died and could not be replaced in time for Thanksgiving so I bought this roaster and kept my fingers crossed. Original delivery date was 11/26 but we received it the week BEFORE. Turkey was one of the best we have ever had. I have raved to family, friends and acquaintances that they should invest in one of these roasters. Only con: DO NOT RELY ON THE COOK TIMES IN THE BOOK.
