Who knew premium bay leaves could elevate an experience?!
I'll be honest, bay leaves have always seemed to me like one of those spices that are pretty much the same all around. I love you cook and I'm particular about my salts, peppers, and some herbs. I try to use fresh herbs, when possible. But I never gave much thought to bay leaves. I have thought in restaurants that things had a particularly nice flavor, hinting at a robust bay leaf, but I figured this was more down to technique than the ingredients. So I wasn't expecting much with these bay leaves but I was wrong! It was a pleasant surprise to open the jar for the first time and be hit by that distinct smell but almost like at a premium level. A bit like the difference between imitation vanilla extract and homemade. And the flavor it impacted to the roast I was making was definitely noticeable and made me a believer. This is a roast I make at least once a month, so I know what to expect in terms of taste. The only thing I changed was using these bay leaves instead of my usual ones and even my husband and children commented that there was something pleasantly different this time and the roast seemed more "aromatic", to use their word. Needless to say, I'm thrilled to have been and to sample this and I'll now be doing some further experiments with this line versus my usual herbs.

Tastes great
I received this product in exchange for an honest review. First of all, I don't use bay leaves all too often. Only in goulash or roasts, typically. I made a big ol' pot of goulash shortly after receiving my sample kit, and I gotta say...best dang pot I've ever made. Now, can I say with absolute certainty that it was because of the bay leaves? No, I cannot. But I can tell you that I didn't change anything else about my recipe, except for the bay leaves, and I somehow concocted a pot of goulash that would make the gods weep with happy tears while wiping the copious amounts of saliva from their chins. 10/10, would buy once I run out.

Love it !
I've been using these bay leaves in my homemade soups and stews, and they make a noticeable difference in flavor. I usually add one or two leaves while the soup is simmering, and it gives the broth a deeper, more rich and aromatic taste. The organic Turkish bay leaves have a better quality than other brands that I used. I love it !
