You do need the light to go with this refill. Already having the starter set, this is a good value. There's no need to keep buying the whole set. All you need to do is get the refill. Refill of a great product (but know how it works)

Very nice refill if you already have the set with the light source. In general, this is a superb product IF YOU KNOW WHAT IT CAN DO AND WHAT IT CAN'T. We are using it for mounting something and then layer by layer building up material. Needs to be exposed to the UV light, if you are glueing pieces together and the glue can't be exposed to light to cure this isn't working.
