Jessie is a troubled young woman from Michigan who is having nightmares. When she starts having them, she has no idea what they mean, nor does she have any idea what the dire future consequences of them are. She quickly discovers that her dreams are in fact a message from a woman named Learis. With that revelation she soon she discovers an alternate realm of reality, and the mysterious Wells and their purpose.
Her life however is already in ruins since she's dealing with the fallout of her mother passing away, and the emotional pain and turmoil that causes her. Her father and family are convinced she is depressed and needs to seek help. Jessie however is an introvert on a good day, and on the bad days she's a full blown socially phobic shut-in who can barely talk when spoken to. So, seeking help and dealing with these issues proves difficult.
