Although the rug was pretty when brand new, it soon became apparent that the color was very superficial: only on the surface. I noticed that if the 'nap' was roughed up, the color disappeared and the background neutral dominated. Because the dye is on the top only, it literally wears off. I have it in my kitchen and high use areas have very little color left.
