I bought FIVE of these straw newsboy caps (4 with belt detail, 1 plain), so it goes without saying that I'm a fan of them, and of this style of hat, in general. I have wool %26 acrylic versions, but I also wanted ones that paired well with my warm-weather wardrobe. These caps look just like the images on the product page, and I think they look more expensive than they are. I'm no hat connoisseur, but my impression wouldn't be that these hats are so affordable, so the quality does look good. Paper straw is quite stiff, so I think I might describe it as fitting like a thin wire mesh hat would. No part of it sags or collapses. They don't get shipped the same way, each time. The first one I received was FOLDED UP %26 heavily-CRINKLED, and it took a fair amount of time %26 effort to shape it and make it wearable (misted it with water %26 applied heat from blowdryer). Subsequent ones had paper stuffed inside to prevent collapse of the hat, so I didn't have to deal with much shaping on those. As for fit, it's shallower—think pilot or boat captain cap—and if your head is smaller or larger than the “average,” the circumference is adjustable. I love that hats of various styles are designed this way, with a drawstring ribbon or elastic to tie. At this price, you too may be tempted to buy this in EVERY. SINGLE. COLOR. It's a timeless style, and if it suits you, that wouldn't be a bad idea. They're really cute, and sure to garner tons of compliments, like placing a cherry on top to complete your ensemble. 🍒 🧁 💕
