Round Corner Extended Lip Strike, 2-1/4" x 1-3/4", (2-1/4" Overall Length), Antique Brass by Stone Harbor Hardware

This was an experiment. I am remodeling the bedroom of my little mobile home. Actually I'm remodeling the whole joint, I just started in the bedroom until I figured out what I was actually doing and how to do it. The casings I chose for the windows and doors was flat stock one by three. This put the door trim beyond the protection of the old strike plate. Although I would need several of these extended lipped strike plates, I wasn't sure if this one would extend far enough for the purposes. As it turns out I was able to make this one work. However when I ordered again, I ordered another by the same company with a lip that extended another quarter inch. This is another experiment with the hopes that I can now put the striking plate A little further back from the edge. I'm pretty sure that this next experiment will work as well, but for anyone in the same situation as I am; using the Craftsman style with flat stock that is 3/4 inch thick for the casing, I would recommend a striking that gave me an extra quarter inch. If it matters this strike plate bends easier than other ones I have worked with in the past. Personally I found this useful as I was in a position where I needed to make adjustments.
