RST Brands Modular Aluminum Outdoor 10' Round Umbrella - Charcoal Gray

After months of reviewing large, outdoor cantilevered umbrellas, I took a chance on the RST 10-foot round umbrella. We already had some RST outdoor furniture. We have had three umbrellas previously, but we always were able to have people deliver and assemble those umbrellas. However, our local patio store went out of business, so buying an umbrella online, with no professional assembly available, looked to be the most likely choice for this purchase. The good news: the RST 10-foot outdoor cantilevered umbrella requires very little assembly. I just needed help lifting the unit, after assembled, due to its height. So, I enlisted two tall friends. Another big plus, this umbrella will take water in the base, in place of 200 pounds of sand, for stabilization against wind. You do need a very heavy base for large, outdoor cantilevered umbrellas; however, transporting the sand, adding the sand to the base, and getting rid of the sand when the umbrella gets old and stops working are not that easy for one single person to accomplish. So just adding water and then replenishing the water every so often as the water evaporates slightly is so-o-o-o much simpler. In addition, I am quite sure that draining the water in the umbrella's base in place of getting rid of 200 pounds of sand at the end of the umbrella's life also will be far easier. The RST umbrella works a little differently than our previous umbrellas but is just as easy to open and close, is easy to shift around to shade different spots, and is easy to cover when closed. In addition, this unit is on wheels, so hopefully, if we ever wanted to move the unit, we could. We have not tried as of yet. Finally, we have not had the umbrella long enough to comment on how well it wears in weather; we live at the beach. But our other cantilevered umbrellas stood up well to the salt air and moisture, and this umbrella is made of strong, sturdy material like the previous umbrellas. So I have high hopes. All in all, I could not be happier with this RST 10-foot, round, cantilevered outdoor umbrella. And, for a final plus, the umbrella matches our RST outdoor furniture which was not the initial intention. We love the furniture as well!!
