Melissa & Doug Round the Rails Train Rug With 3 Linking Wooden Train Cars (39 x 36 inches)

I have two kid rugs in my place - ones just a simple numbers and animals rug and the second one is this guy. my 2 yr old surely love this one more given the moving elements (train) that comes with this. the colors are bright the tracks are great and the stops in between (farm, lake/river, etc.) make for a good learning exercise too. Like any M&D product, the quality of the rug is amazing! the rug is actually like a rug and not a mat. Its pretty thick and has a rubber base which was really nice as we had it on tiles. The trains aren't all that bad either. Can take a good beating. We use this train rug for a toddler girl's bedroom. The colors and theme are neutral enough that it works for both genders. On it we put her light green table and chairs, and white stools, and all the colors work out really well. We find that the variety of colors on the rug help make the room more playful and lively marking the room as definitely for a kid. It also hides stains well. It is a good rectangular size where there is plenty of room for all her table and chairs on one side and still have a play area on the opposite side. The rug also comes with small little pieces (school sign, stop sign, etc) that stand up. We haven't really found use for them, as we use the rug mostly for floor covering rather than for playing with it, but the idea can be nice for a kid who loves using a vehicle to trace through the tracks. The material on the bottom of the rug prevents the rug from slipping away too much, which is definitely a plus for vacuuming.
