Very soft and thick cotton fabric. I would consider this to be a "fitted" sweatshirt. Runs small only because it will shrink a little in the wash so size up. It really is a great product though. It didn't fade after I washed it. My son normally wears a size 8 but I always size up with sweat clothes, so they are comfortable. It's one of his favorites.
