They really improve the appearance of the truck and make it a lot easier for my wife to get in and out. The installation was a breeze as long as you have the right tools. I used an air wrench to loosen and re-fasten the bolts on the truck. But all of the parts fit well, lined up perfectly and look great.

Purchased the Westin Signature Series Nerf Bars for my 2012 GMC Canyon. Having no experience with installation, I was quite the nervous type on whether I could do this or not. The instructions from Westin were great. GMC has the holes already made on underside of truck. Key instruction was to take "u" bolt and put flat washer, lock washer and nut on one side and start at one hole and fish it out of other hole. Measure which holes you need before starting project. My crew cab had 5 sets of holes and I needed the first, fourth and fifth set. Once the "U" bolt is fished out of other hole place flat washer, lock washer and nut on that side. When you go to put steel bracket on "u" bolt, you simply undo just one side and put bracket on with washers and nut and then do the same to other side. The project took 3 hours for me to complete by myself and I cannot be more pleased. The nerf bars look great and I am glad to attempt and install this item. Realtruck had the Nerf Bars shipped directly from the factory and they arrived in record time. My friends had to pay up, since they all bet against a successful project. Not one wanted to help. The cash that I won bought a nice dinner out.
