Neat Hideaway
The pick-up procedure was quite lengthy, but the product itself can be happily deployed. It is mechanically OK - minimalist, but well designed and built. Everything fits neatly together. I don't get why others complain about the mechanics. There are even extra screws for losers. Because of the space-saving design, it doesn't have a fan. At least the black version is available for maximal heat dissipation. Electrically, there was total blindness toward just one of 4 HDDs tested as USB or eSATA in both of two bought enclosures. This apparently weak HDD is OK at every interface else. So the enclosure's interface may be typically a bit critical with (a) selected HDD(s), but you can return the item if it doesn't want to see your HDD. I've replaced the 6-feet data cables with longer ones from elsewhere. The power wires are 9 feet long.
