My hair is really thick, coarse, LONG, & HEAVY! These ties stretch while I'm trying to wrap it around my ponytail but snap back to hold my hair in place until I remove it. It doesn't pull my hair nor get tangled as I'm putting it on or taking it off. It's also great for when I quickly pull my hair up into a bun & wrap the jelly hair tie "around" the bun to hold it in place while I sleep. The tie will eventually wear thin at its weakest point & snap apart. But this is usually after I've used & abused it countless of times. My 22 yr old daughter also uses these on her thick but FINE hair. She'd be the first one to throw it away if it pulled on her hair & hurt her. Oh, & these even work great when I use them on my wet hair, which makes my hair thicker & harder to work with. I absolutely LOVE THEM! They come in black, clear, multicolor, & neon bright multicolor. (PS - I don't know if these would work the same on thinner, fine hair.)
