Great window units

We bought two of the this 5000 btu units 3 weeks ago and we are very happily impressed. One for our master bedroom that is 12' X 16.5' plus an master bathroom and walk-in closet that is an additional 8' X 16.5'. This little unit can keep both the master bedroom and the on-sweet at a comfortable 75 degrees with it being a 100 degrees outside as long as I keep the bedroom door closed. Also one for our living room that is 15' X 16.5'. In between master bedroom and the living room is our entryway /dinette / kitchen that is an additional 17.5 X 16.5 that those two little units have kept those area's at a comfortable 78 degrees with the rest of the home closed off, until we can replace our central air conditioning unit.

Good small machine

Excellent to cool my hot office. Specifications say you need 23" wide window opening but the unit is only 16" wide. Apparently the 23" includes the accordion panels which can be left off. My window is only 17" wide & it was easily installed. Also it is designed for vertical lift windows, while ours is horizontal opening. To cover the upper part of the window you can put in plexiglas which allows light in or some other material.
