Survivors

This is the second book in this series of the survivors, Sebastian's story, and when you read this, survived he has. This brilliant, kind man loves those that have embraced him as he grew up, and in paticular the Coleman family, and Ben. Now Ben wants the one woman that he has been attracted to, but his adopted brother comes first. This woman is a brilliant math teacher, she is gifted, but at eighteen she began raising her eight year old brother, a lot of responsibility for a young woman, but she never looked back. This story kept on giving, and you never will see the next one coming before it is time to open it. I for one cannot wait to read the next survivor's story, they keep getting better and better! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.

Let It Be Me

Becky Wade certainly knows how to write a romance that is so satisfying to read. The characters are so real I found myself thinking of them throughout my day, even when I wasn't able to read. I really liked Leah Montgomery, a young math genius working as a high school math teacher who has raised her brother, Dylan, since he was seven and she eighteen. One day she sees a car go off the road and goes to help. The injured man, Dr. Sebastian Grant, thinks she looks like an angel and remains enamored of her. Months later they meet again at a school function where he goes to help his friend Ben Coleman and he discovers she is the same Leah that Ben has had a crush on for two years. I really liked how the Coleman family "adopted" Sebastian. Everyone would be blessed to have friends like them. Leah has no plans for marriage or even a boyfriend. Her goal is to obtain her PhD when Dylan leaves for college. Leah's reactions to Sebastian amused me. She tries so hard to not be attracted to him. I loved their banter too. They both had a lot of issues to work through before they were free to love. The mystery that arises with Leah's DNA result had a very interesting twist at the end. Let It Be Me is one of those books that I could hardly wait to read, and loved reading, but left me feeling a little bereft when I finished because it was over. Perhaps I'll have to read it again. I highly recommend Let It Be Me.

Another wonderful novel by Becky Wade!

Let It Be Me, by Becky Wade, the second book in A Misty River Romance series, is a thoughtfully written novel full of heart, humor, and meaning. Page after page, this book delivers a thoroughly intriguing story that is contemplative, surprising, redemptive, and memorable. With characters that are truly unique and authentic, this novel is an absolute pleasure to read. Elements of sweet romance, a small town setting, and a little bit of mystery blend together beautifully to make this story enjoyable and compelling from beginning to end. With finesse and genuine skill, Ms. Wade has written a novel that is wholly moving and remarkably engaging. Throughout the book, such difficult themes as loss, fear, and vulnerability are deftly explored. The story becomes especially gripping as the characters pursue their goals, make space for unexpected relationships, and endeavor to heal from deep grief, anger, and disappointment. They find support in each other as their wounded hearts begin to mend through the power of honesty, trust, vulnerability, and forgiveness. As grace begins to flow, faith and hope become less fragile in hearts that are open to love, wholeness, and belonging. A readers time is never wasted when it is spent within the pages of a novel by Becky Wade. Let It Be Me is certainly a stunning book that successfully appeals to the reader's imagination, curiosity, sense of humor, and emotions. This well-written story offers a captivating plot, endearing characters, and relevant themes. I recommend this novel enthusiastically.
