NYX - Hot Singles Eye Shadow Showgirl - 0.053 oz. (1.5 g)

I've got pale, cool-toned skin with asymmetrically-hooded, slightly-crepey (30s) eyelids... and the shade "stiletto" is the PERFECT daily one-and-done matte for me. It reads as a muted, dusty (but not powdery), mauve-y peach. Dark enough to give some depth, light enough to be super forgiving and blendable, opaque enough to color-correct for purplish veins. I also apply it below the lower lash line for subtle definition. It's been my go-to for 5 years now. Can I also say, regarding the Hot Singles shadow line more generally... it has been AMAZING having the option to buy ONLY THE INDIVIDUAL SHADES I KNOW I'LL ACTUALLY USE. Palettes are cute, but they're 95% useless for folks with eyes like mine (and we are legion lol). With palettes, I was gazing dejectedly at a whole range of unflattering shades every time I reached for the flattering *one* (or two at best). With singles, I'm buying yearlong supplies of my favorite shades, and occasionally trying new ones that look promising. If NYX stops selling soft matte singles like Stiletto, I'll probably transition to ULTA's single shadows instead.
