Works great!

I haven't had a lot of opportunity to use this yet, but did some testing on a block of color that had blended colors from one of the super Tritone pencils I also purchased. I scratched in some highlights like you would find in animal fur. This tool seems quite useful, and I look forward to experimenting with it further! I'm using with colored pencil, not as a true "scratchboard" tool, and it works!

Long lived scratchboard tool

I was a medical illustrator and did a lot of detailed pen and ink illustrations. Now that I'm retired I'm painting and drawing and decided to try scratchboard art. It's essentially the reverse of pen and ink and lends itself to animal portraits, sunlit scenes with clearcut shadows and other subjects. These Ampersand tools are an essential component, especially the fine multi pronged tool.

My first experiment with a fiber brush has gone well so far!

I am a beginner with scratchboarding and have been struggling to do variations in shading. I saw this on a video and hoped it would help me add dimension to my art. And it was easy to use,I can't wait to try different effects.
