Like always, ALWAYS PURCHASE WITH CAUTION! These are not toys and one can easily break an ankle if not properly trained in ballet and approved to go up on pointe by an instructor once a dancer's feet are strong enough and have stopped growing. This being said, I've been fitted professionally for pointe shoes for over a decade and this is my most comfortable pair of pointe shoes yet! I bought these because of the color honestly and to have a cheaper pair that was a different color to take pictures in and be able to not feel as guilty using them outside of studio flooring. I will say the box and shank are HARD! Which is amazing, and I was able to customize mine and mold mine to my preferred softness. I re-sewed the ribbons to my preferred angle but those pre-sewn ribbons are NOT going anywhere. It was almost impossible to take them off to reposition them, I sewed on some black elastics and went on my way, they are not baggy at all. For all of you dancers who know this terminology, the box is very narrow, probably what most pointe brands offer as their narrowest option, box is also very square, not very tapered, vamp is medium-low and the wings are soft and low, shank is extra hard and the seams are outside seams on the sole which isn't the best but it's not bad. They're impeccably made too. Also the toe pads are a dream!!! Can't beat it for the price, and it comes in a beautiful satin bag. So much better than having to buy the shoes, ribbons, pads, and carry bag all separately. Just had to buy some $2 elastics and everything else was included. I'm impressed!
