This product really does create a curl without eyelash curlers, but there is a technique to applying it for it to work. The lashes didn't look clumpy after application. The product didn't flake off at all throughout my full 9 hour working day as an optician. You need at least 3 coats to create a strong curl. First I apply a coat under my top lashes. Second coat on top of my top lashes. Then I put a final coat under my top lashes whilst pushing my eyelashes back with the brush and moving the brush side to side to avoid clumps. You must push the eyelashes back with the brush to create the curl. I then apply a single coat to the bottom lashes. Do not turn the brush vertically when applying this mascara or it will look clumpy. This product has had negative reviews but this is probably because the users didn't push their lashes back with the mascara brush to create the curl.
