[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this remote blower a year ago along with an 800 Series Induction Cooktop and an 800 Series Down Draft. We are extremely pleased with all three of these purchases. This remote blower is installed between the floor joists in the basement about 8 feet away from the base of the Down Draft. It is vented another 8 feet out the side of the foundation to the back of our house. The blower moves an incredible amount of air yet is way more quiet than the twenty year old GE system it replaced. Even in the basement rec room with a drop ceiling the humming noise is not terrible. Some advice I have is that the power cable (model EXTNCB25) for connecting this blower and the Down Draft controller has to be purchased separately and it is actually labeled as a Thermador part. The wire colors in the bundle did not all match the wire colors in the Down Draft controller or the remote Blower. However, the wiring diagrams in the various documentation are good and allowed for making the proper connections. Just document the connections and attach your own wiring diagram to both the blower and the Down Draft controller for future reference if needed. Also, this blower fits snugly between joists that are accurately placed and not warped. In my 25 year-old house they were neither. I had to chisel out about 1/4 inch of joist for it to fit.
